COVID-19

Update – 7/4/2021

I am pleased to let you know that as of 12/4/2021 I am fully open to all customers again. All COVID-19 precautions and measures stated below are still very much applicable including the updated cancellation policy – if you have an appointment and feel unwell in any way, please do not attend, we can re-arrange.

If I can be of any help please get in touch.

Peak Sports Therapy re-opening statement 19/6/2020

As of 19/6/2020 I am pleased so say that I will be re-opening and taking appointments once again.

I will continue to offer full, hands on, massage therapy and kinesiology taping service to patients who do not have symptoms and have had no known contact with any current cases COVID-19.

By the very nature of this treatment social distancing is not possible so it is important that it is understood what is required from both parties (myself and the client).

I will follow government, PHE and NHS advice to delay the spread of the virus and reduce the impact for my patients.  Please be assured that I will continue to follow comprehensive cleaning policies to ensure your health and safety.

The information available is changing almost daily, however, the two links below offer the most up to date guidance:

Current NHS advice for the effective management of Coronavirus can be found at: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/

The government’s response and further advice on Coronavirus can be found at: https://www.gov.uk/government/topical-events/coronavirus-covid-19-uk-government-response

Ahead of your appointment I would advise you to review the guidance above and if you do feel unwell or have been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 you follow the government advice on self-isolation.

As long as I am 100% healthy and able I will be offering the most effective forms of treatment possible to both new and existing patients.  I will also use all resources available to continue to provide you with expert assessment, advice, exercise, and self-help treatment in the event of restrictions affecting your ability to attend the clinic.

My Approach to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Cancellation Fees

I currently work a 24 hours notice cancellation policy, however, until further notice this will no longer be upheld.  If you are unwell in any way, whether this be coronavirus related or otherwise, we should reschedule the appointment, there will be no cancellation charge.  This also goes for my own wellbeing – If I feel unwell at all I will be in contact to rearrange.

If you are unable to attend your appointment I would appreciate you contacting me at the earliest opportunity.

Cleaning Policies

I have always followed a strict cleaning policy and will continue to do so.  I would like to reassure all patients of the following measures I am taking to help protect you, myself and the general public:

Sessions

At present I will only be operating my clinic in Middleton-by-Wirksworth, this way I have complete control over the environment and hygiene for it. I will also be taking on limited bookings each day to allow for thorough cleaning of the clinic.

Handwashing – I will continue to ensure handwashing before and after every patient is adhered to closely for at least 20 seconds with soap and water.

The massage table will be thoroughly cleaned with anti-bacterial cleaner after every patient.

Clean towels and fresh paper towel is used on the bed for each patient.

Alcohol Gel will be available for use by myself and patients at any time.

All shared surfaces, such as door handles, card payment machine and pens will be cleaned after all patients.

PPE

Masks – All patients will be required to wear a face mask or adequate face covering during the appointment.  Unfortunately, I am not able to provide masks for patients, please can you bring your own.

Gloves – In order to offer effective massage treatment it is important that I put “skin on skin”, it is not possible for me to wear protective gloves.  Please be assured that my hands will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized prior to your arrival as mentioned above.  If patients would like to wear gloves themselves this is not a problem.

Further suggestions

In order to make my patients more comfortable and am open to any additional feedback about how I could improve on the above and further safeguard the client and myself without diminishing the effectiveness of the treatments offered.

Thank you very much for your understanding and I look forward to seeing you soon

David Singleton
